By popular request, I took Reed to see ANIMALS! One of his favorite things in the world. Almost every night Bob and I take the kids on a walk around the neighborhood and Reed asks to see animals. We tell him that we may see some dogs, cats, or squirrels. So finally, I took him to see some really exciting animals. No, we didn't make it to the big zoo yet, but we went to the local farm zoo again. We met a bunch of his buddies from the playgroup at the park yesterday, but he and his buddy Brady also hit the farm afterward.
As usual with any "farm" activities, Reed requested his farmer clothes. (The Reed brothers would be so proud of their great-nephew.) This time not only did he want to wear his overalls and hat, but also his rubber boots...since we were going in a barn. He is getting better with his reasoning skills so I let the boy wear his boots.
I thought I'd also note that one of Reed's favorite songs as of late (besides the Jackson 5's ABC) is The Farmer and the Dell, or as he refers to it, The Farmer and the Dairy-o. I think next summer we are going to have to send him down to the Reed family farm. When he was "driving" the tractor at the park the other day, I asked him what his crop was and he told me cows. I think he might need a little more time in the country.
