Reed's talents continue to emerge. Two of his strongest skills are puzzle solving and block building. With two parents as Architects, it's probably not a big surprise. I think every parent marvels in their child's genius, whether it be smiling a week early or composing a symphony.
I find block towers, sculptures, and creations of every kind that Reed has constructed. I am in awe of his creativity, understanding of symmetry, and use of color. Yes, I am biased, but my kid rocks!

Indeed, he named them all himself. Also notice his clothes in the photos in relation to the creation. The day he wore a WALL-E shirt, he built a WALL-E thing. The day he wore super heroes, he picked a super hero motif. This has been one of his quirks lately. Reed wakes up early and quickly dresses himself first thing. He coordinates his underwear with his shirt (often a theme like Cars, Star Wars, Legos, Super Heros). If he doesn't have the character on his underwear, he will choose a color from the shirt.
Later, all the games he plays that day involves the character on his shirt. Whenever Bob leaves for work, the kids always ask him to honk the car horn to them. Cora always asks for McQueen honks and Reed's choice depends on what he is wearing. Of course, the honks are pretty much sound the same every day, but the kids love making requests.
Reed continues with his theme for the day with his pajamas. Sometimes this means that he's wearing flannel pajamas in the summer because they are the only pair of pajamas in a certain design. He will also insist that his bedtime story also be in the same vein. I've had to come up with more Star Wars, Super Heros, and Cars stories than I could have ever imagined.
I'm not sure if this a typical thing for kids his age to live in "themes." It seems like Reed really likes to immerse himself wholeheartedly in whatever theme he has decided on for that day. Some days this can grow tiresome, but overall, I enjoy seeing what his subject will be for the day and how he'll choose to live it out.
