It seems like every child's verbal development is a little different. It seems with my kids just when I start thinking, are they going to start talking soon or what, shortly thereafter the floodgates seem to open up.
Cora is experimenting with a lot of new words. Here are a few of her favorites.
duck, rock, bucket, bubble, book, popcorn, shoes, sock, eyes, ears, nose, Reed, juice (that emcompasses all fluids, including milk and water), i want juice.
She wishes she could say, "I want candy." She doesn't know the word candy, but that doesn't stop her from begging and pointing to Reed's Halloween bucket on top of the refrigerator. Hey, maybe that explains why she knows the word bucket.
While she is still a mere novice at speaking, she seems to be a scholar at understanding. Notice I said understanding, not complying, although most of the time she does. She'll fetch just about any object. She would dress herself if she had the ability. She fully believes she can read. Watch out world, it's only just the beginning.
