It's time

Yes, it's time to lower the crib mattress again. Cora was crying with desperation last night and when I went in her room to check on her I saw that she had pulled herself up. At first I thought she was standing, but then realized that she was kneeling and holding onto the top rail of the crib, peering over the side. Regardless, she was upright...and not just sitting.

While I am nearly certain that she can't pull herself over, you can never be too safe and babies never fail to prove you wrong when you discount their ability to do something.

Here is one of Cora's favorite positions. I like to think of it as her downward-facing dog, one of my favorite yoga positions. Sometimes she gets into this position to do a little walk-crawl, but mostly it is her transition move between laying on her stomach and moving to sitting.

Crawling

We are kissing goodbye the phase where you can put Cora down and she won't go anywhere. Her longest venture to date is between the Living Room and the Kitchen. Her most frequent trip is from the Living Room to the Dining Room. I also can no longer put her in the hallway upstairs while I go to the restroom or else she'll crawl/army-crawl(it's sort of a combo) into the Bathroom. That is no place for her, especially when she has a potty training brother. (We'll go into that subject later.)

Watch me move!

Cora is also starting to clap and is loving peek-a-boo. She's getting great at feeding herself those little Gerber Puffs and Baby Mum Mums(cracker things). I think her little pinchers are working great, very nice fine motor skills :)

Her personality is developing more everyday and I can't tell you how many people comment to me about how happy of a baby she is. She is very smiley and expressive, that is for sure. I guess we'll keep her.
