This weekend Reed experienced a few "Firsts" as he surely will continue to over the next few years. Reed was really taking in all the activities that the City of Elgin could dish out. He begged us to take him downtown Saturday night to the Fox Fire Fest. He was rather convincing so we gathered his best friends from the neighborhood, Benjamin (age: 14 weeks) and Quentin (age:15 months), and headed down to Festival Park to listen to Starship and Blues Traveler. We really thought he was mostly into Blues Traveler, but when Starlight finished their set with "We Built This City," he was really getting down. He saw his first fireworks show too!
Sunday morning, it was the Elgin Cycling Classic that really got Reed up and going. Not only would it be his first bike race to watch, but it would be his Dad's first race to ride in. We cheered loudly but it didn't make the race any easier. We all had a great time and we got featured on the Downtown Elgin blog. http://www.downtownelgin.blogspot.com/
